I want to join your hardcore band but my mom wants to talk to your mom first
she wants the d(ouble quarter pounder with cheese)
so this is DEFINITELY a longshot, but i was reading the pmmm manga and i noticed a little something that never occured to me
canonically, we only see the events of about 7~8 or so timelines, right? but with numerous context clues i think it’s safe to assume there’s been way more than that
but is there actually a set number? how many times has homura reset?
and then there came this little panel to set all my fears to rest
“threads of fate all centered around madoka”
now, in the panel above, that’s a shit ton of threads connecting to madoka
each thread probably representing every timeline
which is a lot
60, to be exact (yes, i counted them)
if we estimate each timeline to probably be around a month, then repeating it sixty times is five years.
five. years.
homura spent five years resetting the timeline to save madoka
hot damn this show just got a hell of a lot more depressing
I don’t remember where I got this exactly, so it could be bogus, but I seem to remember one of the creators alluding to Homura actually going through 500~ unique timelines, which is closer to 40 years of this torture. It makes sense to me for it to be a much higher number because Homura needed to wait for the once in a lifetime chance (several lifetimes, likely) for everything to go right.
That’s my headcanon, anyway.
